how to create a new spreadsheet in google sheets ipad

IN SUMMARY

To create a new spreadsheet in Google Sheets on your iPad, open the Google Sheets app, tap the multicolored plus icon in the bottom-right corner, and select 'Create new spreadsheet' from the options. This will open a blank spreadsheet where you can start entering data.

Getting Started

When you open the app, you'll see a screen displaying your recent documents. If you don't have any recent documents, this screen will be blank.

This will open a menu with two options: 'Create from template' and 'Create new spreadsheet'. Choose 'Create new spreadsheet' to start with a blank spreadsheet.

The spreadsheet will be named 'Untitled spreadsheet' by default, but you can rename it by tapping on the sheet name at the bottom and choosing 'Rename' from the options.

Navigating and Editing

You can also use pinch-to-zoom gestures to zoom in or out for a closer or broader view of your data.

If you don't have a physical keyboard connected, the on-screen keyboard will appear when you tap a cell. You can also tap the 'Text' icon in the top-right corner to access text formatting options like bold, italic, and font size.

You can have multiple sheets within a single spreadsheet. Tap the arrow next to a sheet name to rename, duplicate, or delete that sheet.

Formatting and Functions

From here, you can change the cell color, add borders, adjust number formatting (e.g., currency, percentages), and merge cells.

Google Sheets offers a wide range of functions for calculations, dates, and more. You can search for the function you need or browse through the available categories.

With your data selected, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and choose 'Explore' to see suggested chart types based on your data.
